STORYLINE

 

Anaisa, a 12 year old girl, wishes to become a tile painter like her father. Right before the big earthquake in Lisbon, it is revealed to her that her family is crypto-Jewish, she feels divided between the culture where she grew up and her cultural heritage. During the catastrophe, Anaisa get’s the Hebrew Bible and, to protect it from the greedy and intolerant religion around her, she must leave her country, for a place where she can continue her family tradition and make her dream come true.
